
Game Design: Digital & Tabletop | Summer In-Person Workshop

In this weeklong workshop, students will explore game design by focusing on digital game creation in the morning and tabletop game development in the afternoon. They will learn core design principles, develop original concepts, and bring their ideas to life through coding, digital tools, and hands-on prototyping.

To ensure flexibility, students can enroll in full or half-day options.

In-Person Workshop Information & Policies
- Registration Policy: All registrations for our weeklong workshops are non-refundable to ensure proper staffing and planning for each session.
- Early Drop-Off & Late Pick-Up: Supervised care is available before (9:00–10:00 AM) and after (4:00–5:00 PM) workshops at a rate of $15 per hour, per student. For inquiries, contact [email protected].
- Lunch Break: Full-day participants have lunch from 12:30–1:30 PM. Students should bring their own lunch and may choose to eat inside 370 Jay St. or go out independently.
- Age Groups: Summer weeklong workshops are for students ages 10–24. Participants will be grouped by age: 10–15 and 16–24.
- Community Agreements: Before the workshop begins, students and families must read and sign the Community Contracts & Student Handbook to ensure all participants understand workshop expectations.
- Technology: TKU will provide laptops and other necessary technology to participate.
- Email Access: We recommend students have access to their own email address to log into workshop tools independently and continue using them after the workshop ends.
- Friday Student Showcase: Parents & caregivers are invited to the Friday Student Showcase at 3:15 PM each week to see what students have created.
