Get career-ready! Work-based learning programs that integrate real-world work experiences with classroom learning for students ages 14-24. Long-term and short-term learning opportunities are offered throughout the year. Programs follow the NYSED Work-Based Learning Framework, progressing through Career Awareness, Career Exploration, and Career Development stages. 

Digital Agency

A career ladder program that mimics a real workplace and is designed for young people who learn differently. Participants work together to complete projects for real clients and are paid a stipend for their contributions.

Applications are open to participants ages 14 to 24 who have advanced tech skills. 

Career Readiness Internship Summer Program (CRISP)

CRISP is a 6-week invite-only summer internship program for TKU’s advanced students. Interns work 4 days a week at external worksites matched to their skill set and interests while being supported by TKU staff.

This program is invite only and preference is given to students who have taken multiple TKU workshops and have been in programs such as CTI and TKU Digital Agency.

Creative Tech Internship (CTI)

CTI acts as a bridge between school experiences and workplace environments. Interns learn soft skills, and work on their social-emotional and transition skills. CTI meets weekly on Fridays to work on individual and collaborative tech-based projects. Interns are eligible to receive school credit.

Level Up Tech (LUT)

The Level Up Tech Package is a series of career-ready workshops designed to help students achieve their goals by giving them specific skills needed to start exploring employment in a particular aspect of a tech field.

Level Up: Digital Marketing will start in Fall 2024. Learn more about the enhanced program in collaboration with AHRC and Bridges to Work. Get training, access to internship opportunities and prospective employers!

College Access Program (CAP)

Develop essential college preparation skills through guided discussions on topics such as college expectations, navigating new environments, understanding educational rights, and self-advocacy.

Meets virtually on Mondays from 5:00-6:15pm | Starts on November 18.
